You lived in my middle class neighborhood, rode the bus like the rest of us, and yet the world treated you differently. People were mean and called you names. If they had only known that your IQ was above genius and that you would probably solve unknown equations. They may have have let you walk the halls in peace. I hope since you have left this world you are at peace.I'm sorry for the cruelty, and abuse you suffered. I don't know how you died but I will always remember how you lived.

My mother mailed me your obituary, as I lived out of State..It was very sad to hear of your passing!! You were always very kind to me, and as well, my kookiness always seemed to amuse you:) Or at least you led me to believe that!! RIP Dear James!!

See you in Heaven!!

Lelia:)

James Green was an amazing example of courage and strong will. In spite of the cruelty that he faced on a day to day basis, he still showed up to school and was able to hold his head up high regardless of everything. He did not find his place at Evans, but he did find his way at Augusta College. He found the true friends that he truly deserved and was able to smile and find meaning in waking up every day. He had a reason to fight back when Leukemia struck, and fought a courageous battle....to the end. Unfortunately, he was not able to win this battle. There is no end to what he could have accomplished if he was to have survived such a horrible disease...I am glad that I was able to be his friend at Augusta College for even a little while. I only wish that I had the same courage that he had in high school, when he could have really used a true friend.
